For over 30 years, this cherished initiative has brought families, schools, and workplaces together over a simple morning tea, but the impact is anything but simple. Last year, nearly 400 Canberrans joined forces, each with their unique stories and reasons to fight.
"It's become a beloved tradition for many," shares Verity Hawkins, CEO of Cancer Council ACT. "But it's so much more than just tea and snacks. Every dollar raised is a step towards a cancer-free future for our community."
And this is the part most people miss: it's not just about the big donations. Every $10 connects someone newly diagnosed with vital support. $25 funds a conversation with our Supportive Care Team. $120 ensures our ENHANCE Wellbeing program remains free, offering gentle movement and connection to those affected by cancer.
But wait, there's more! $205 helps provide a free wig or hat to someone experiencing hair loss due to treatment, and $1,000 could fund life-saving research right here in the ACT.
Throughout May and June, participants across the ACT will be hosting their morning teas, and every cent raised will go towards these life-changing initiatives.
