Marco Sturm Unveils Bruins' Lineup Strategy Against Canucks
By Cole Shelton
The Boston Bruins are set to make strategic lineup adjustments for their upcoming game against the Vancouver Canucks on Saturday evening.
Alex Steeves will be absent from the lineup, while Jeffrey Viel will return, marking his first appearance since November 29th. During the morning skate, Bruins head coach Marco Sturm revealed his decision to shuffle forward lines, with a notable inclusion of Marat Khusnutdinov on the top line.
"Steeves is out, so we had to make a slight adjustment," Sturm explained. "We're bringing back Kuzy to the first line to give them a boost and balance the other lines."
Viel's return is also significant, as he hasn't played since November 29th. Sturm acknowledged the challenge of maintaining a professional attitude during extended line scratches.
"It's a challenging role, not easy," Sturm noted. "Viel's continued presence on the team is due to his professionalism. He's handled it before, even though he doesn't enjoy it. He's committed to staying ready."
The Bruins' forward lines for the game were announced by team reporter Belle Fraser, featuring the following combinations:
- Khusnutdinov-E. Lindholm-Pastrnak
- Mittelstadt-Zacha-Geekie
- Jeannot-Minten-Kastelic
- Viel-Kuraly-Eyssimont
Boston's recent performance includes a 3-1 home loss to the Edmonton Oilers, and they currently hold an 20-15-0 record, just outside the playoff contention.
